Martien van Osch, MSc

Managing Partner

Martien is Managing Partner and co-founder of Forbion. He leads our US office in Boston, MA, and is a member of the Ventures and Growth investment committee.

He represented Forbion in Asia for 5 years from Singapore between 2018 and 2023 and led the Forbion Fund I-III investments in medical technologies until 2017. He was responsible for the investments in PneumRx (sold to BTG in 2015), Circulite (sold to Heartware in 2013), Pathway (sold to Bayer Medrad in 2011), Impella (sold to Abiomed, Inc. in 2005) and Flowmedica, Inc. (sold to Angiodynamics in 2009). His biopharma experience encompasses board positions at Santaris (sold to Roche in 2014) and Acadia (IPO on Nasdaq in 2004). He currently serves on the board of Mestag.

Before co-founding Forbion in 2006, Martien was an Investment Director at ABN AMRO Capital Life Sciences for 6 years and held other positions in ABN AMRO Capital and ABN AMRO Group for 4 years before that.

Martien has a degree in Econometrics from the Rijksuniversiteit Groningen.
