Patrick Round, MBBS, FFPM, serves as Chief Medical Officer (CMO) for several biotech start-up companies, including RyCarma Therapeutics Inc.
Previously, he was CMO of NorthSea Therapeutics BV. As CMO and later CEO of Xention Limited, he was responsible for all clinical development activities at Dezima BV prior to its acquisition by Amgen.
Before joining Xention, he served as Senior Vice President of Development at Cambridge Antibody Technology, where he played a key role during the company's acquisition by AstraZeneca. Earlier in his career, he held positions as Director of Development at Celltech, Director of Clinical Development at Glaxo Wellcome, and Medical Adviser at Novo Nordisk, where he began his pharmaceutical industry career in 1991, working in both the UK and Denmark.
Dr. Round received his medical degree from Charing Cross Hospital Medical School in London in 1982. He became a Fellow of the Royal College of Anaesthetists in 1990 and a Fellow of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Medicine in 2005.
