James joined Forbion in 2026 as a Fellow on the Ventures team.
He completed his DPhil in Computational Biology at University of Oxford, graduating with a commendation for an exceptional thesis. During this time, he was also a Visiting Scientist at the Francis Crick Institute in the lab of Sam Rodriques, where he developed computational methods to infer RNA kinetics in human cells.
Alongside his doctoral work, James co-founded Nucleate UK, a life sciences accelerator, raising over $5M in funding, including support from the UK government.
James holds a BSc in Biotechnology and an MSc in Bioinformatics and Theoretical Systems Biology from Imperial College London, as well as a DPhil in Cellular and Molecular Medicine from the University of Oxford.
