Record fundraising backs two new funds investing across biotech development stages
The Pharma Letter covered Forbion’s €2.3 billion fundraising across two new funds, its largest to date. The raise substantially exceeded its target and was completed at pace, making it one of the largest life sciences venture capital fundraisings globally over the past five years.
The funds will support biotech companies at different stages of development. Forbion Growth Opportunities Fund IV focuses primarily on later-stage biopharma companies in Europe and North America, while Forbion Ventures Fund VIII backs therapeutics-focused biotech companies, including existing businesses and new ventures built around promising assets and proven teams.
