Prior to Forbion, Maximilien worked at the public venture fund PMV in Flandres, Belgium, focusing on seed and series A investments in the health and bioeconomy industry. Here he was responsible for the investment in Amphistar, a start-up developing biosurfactants from waste streams.
Before PMV, Maximilien worked both in corporate and start-up environments in diverse roles. He started as a research associate at the Bio Base Europe Pilot Plant focusing on continuous fermentation processes and continued his career as a business and strategy development manager at Exothera, a subsidairy of Univercells focused on biomanufacturing.
Maximilien holds a MSc in Bioscience Engineering obtained at the Ghent University and Toulouse INP with a specific focus on chemistry and industrial biotechnology and a MBA at the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University.
