The Forbion BioEconomy team contributed to Invest-NL’s Agrifood Biotech Deep Dive, a report examining the opportunities for agricultural and food biotechnology in the Netherlands and what it takes to bring innovations to market and scale them. The analysis draws on more than 150 interviews and 15 years of investment data.
The report highlights the importance of market demand in driving adoption. Food manufacturers rarely switch ingredients on sustainability grounds alone; new products must also compete with established alternatives on cost, quality and performance. Public funding can help address remaining financing needs for scale-up once credible commercial evidence has been established.
