New funds give Forbion capacity to finance around 30 biotech companies

Pulse 2.0 reports on Forbion’s €2.3 billion fundraising across Forbion Growth Opportunities Fund IV and Forbion Ventures Fund VIII. The raise exceeded its original target, marks the largest in Forbion’s history and brings assets under management to approximately €7.5 billion. The funds have capacity to finance around 30 companies, with initial investments already completed.

The article outlines the funds’ complementary investment strategies. Growth Opportunities Fund IV focuses primarily on later-stage biopharma companies in Europe and North America developing therapies for significant unmet medical needs. Ventures Fund VIII invests in therapeutics-focused biotech companies, including established businesses and new ventures built around promising assets and experienced teams.

Pulse 2.0 also highlights Forbion’s 20-year track record: 142 companies financed, including 37 created by the firm, and 21 approved medical products developed by portfolio companies, reaching more than 1.6 million patients worldwide.
