Mathias is a Partner at Forbion, which he joined in 2016.
Prior to joining Forbion, he was with Novo Ventures, where he led due diligence on more than a dozen European biotech companies, including several notable success stories: Yellow Jersey Therapeutics (acquired by Numab and subsequently by Johnson & Johnson), Therachon (acquired by Pfizer), and NBE Therapeutics (acquired by Boehringer Ingelheim). He also played a key role in investments that went on to complete successful NASDAQ IPOs, including VectivBio, Inventiva, Pharvaris, and Lava Therapeutics.
In addition, Mathias supported several Novo Ventures portfolio companies operationally, advising on corporate strategy, market access and reimbursement, financing, business development, and exit planning.
Mathias holds a PhD in Nanomedicine from Aarhus University, where his research focused on immunotherapy and drug delivery. During his studies, he also spent time at the University of California, Berkeley, and Harvard Medical School.
