Maja joined Forbion in 2026 as a Fellow.
She completed her PhD at King's College London where she investigated cell therapies for macular degeneration, applying multi-omic techniques to elucidate mechanisms underlying macula development and translate those findings into more refined cell transplantation strategies.
Alongside her doctoral work, Maja served as Managing Director of Nucleate UK, a life sciences accelerator supported by the UK government, supporting the formation and growth of multiple spinouts from UK universities. She has also held roles at several biotech venture funds, including as a Fellow in the London office of F-Prime Capital.
Maja holds a BSc in Biochemistry and an MSc in Neuroscience from Imperial College London, as well as a PhD from King's College London.
