€2.3 billion fundraising will support around 30 high-potential companies

Bionity covered Forbion’s record €2.3 billion fundraising across Forbion Growth Opportunities Fund IV and Forbion Ventures Fund VIII. The raise substantially exceeded its target, bringing assets under management to approximately €7.5 billion and giving the funds capacity to finance around 30 companies. The first investments have already been completed.

The article highlights strong support from existing and new institutional and corporate investors, including MN, PGGM, KfW Capital, Kauffman Foundation and Eli Lilly and Company. The new capital strengthens Forbion’s ability to invest selectively in promising biotech companies developing treatments for significant unmet medical needs.

Bionity also notes Forbion’s 20-year track record: the firm has financed 142 companies, including 37 it created, and its portfolio companies have delivered 21 approved medical products that have reached more than 1.6 million patients worldwide.
